Interview with Mussali Aizhigit

Nowadays is more and more peoples want to study abroad, some of them failed and other pass and study abroad. Most of the failed people fail cause of language barrier. And I want to take interview with Mussali Aizhigit, about his life and his own way of breaking this barrier.

- Can you introduce yourself?

- I am Aizhigit Mussali, a second-year student of City University of Hong Kong majoring in mechanical engineering. Originally, I am from Saryagash and graduated Nazarbaev Intellectual school of Physics and Mathematics in Shymkent in 2019.

- Cool! What was like Aizhigit in childhood?

- When I was a child, I was inquisitive about how some electronic toys or devices work. I used to break every single toy to know what is inside and had been scolded by mom.

- Oh… yes… I also remember it. Have you been depressed? If yes, why?

- I rarely feel depressed, but in my 12th Grade, I was upset receiving rejection after rejection from the universities. I got over depression only after being accepted to my current university.

- What would you like to change in your past?

- If I had a chance, I would have been more confident in myself. This would have affected me positively in terms of academic achievements.

- Do you love your life and your current actions?

- I am satisfied with everything in my life. To be honest, I never feel unhappy because many people in the world are in hunger and struggling to find water and food. Therefore, I believe every action that I am doing right now could never make me complain about life.

- What about your greatest achievement?

- My most significant achievement is being accepted to the top 50 University of the World with a 100% scholarship. Studying with a scholarship made me financially independent from my parents, and it is a relief for them.

- What do you want to achieve in the future?

- My goal for the future is to be an expert on mechanical engineering and work for an Aerospace company. Flying to space was my childhood dream, and I want it to be true one day.

- What/who is your motivation/motivator?

- I get motivation from the failure, and none of the words can inspire me. Some people may seek inspiration from other people: idols, parents, or who they love, but for me, it does not work. Even if someone says inspirational words, the inspiration's effect will last for only a few days. From failures, I desire to prove to myself that I could do better, and I will try not to make my own mistakes in the future.

- Can you give example or real story about it?

- Yes, of course. Here is one example from my past. I got a mark D in the English class in the first term of 8th grade, and I couldn't read a single sentence. After that, I tried hard to learn English and spent all the time to become better than yesterday. As a result, in the last term of that grade, I got A+ from the final exam. But still, I was far behind my classmates. I worked hard even more until graduation from high school. And now I am studying in the World's top 50 University in English as a medium of instruction.

- What would you say to your 18-year-old self and to us?

- To 18 old myself, I would say never be lazy and keep going on what you are doing right now. To every 18 years old people, I want to say, find your own goal to succeed and never give up on achieving it. Because the best things in life on the other side of your comfort zone.

- Thanks for your answers!

- I’m glad to help you!
